How to remove bird poop from windows: Household item ‘dissolves’ droppings
As the weather improves and days get lighter and longer, many Britons may have noticed more dirt on their windows.
Some of the muck can be attributed to pollution, dust and mud but another common window stain is bird poop. When removing bird poop from windows, it's important to be careful as it can be dangerous.
Cleaning pro Lynsey Crombie, who is known as the Queen of Clean on Instagram, recently posted a video about removing bird poop from various items in the garden.
She also explained why bird droppings can be dangerous to humans. She said: "Not many people realise this but bird poo in big volumes can actually be very dangerous. It causes bad respiratory problems, can strip the colour from your cars and is not safe for your pets."
Unfortunately, removing bird droppings from uPVC windows can be difficult. So, with this in mind, Adam Pawson, a property expert from leading window retailer Safestyle has shared how to remove bird poop from windows using a household item.

While it can be tempting to leave bird mess to dry and harden on windows, this is actually the worst thing people can do.
Adam explained: "Bird poop can be difficult to wash off windows, especially if it has had time to dry on your uPVC window.
"However, it's important to clean it off your windows regularly because if left untreated it can cause damage to your window and become much harder to remove."
Lynsey also suggested using white vinegar to remove bird mess from surfaces. She said on Instagram: "If you spot some try and deal with it immediately simply spray directly with white vinegar to break it down leave for a few minutes and then wash with warm soapy water."

Adam also suggested using the popular household item for removing "stubborn" bird poop, especially if it's been there for a while.
He added: "To help make it easier to remove, make a cleaning solution of vinegar, washing up liquid and warm water. The acidic nature of the vinegar will help to dissolve the mess while being a safe option for your window glass."
Bird mess needs to be cleaned off windows carefully as it could accidentally scratch the window if it's not removed properly.
Adam continued: "To do this, douse a cloth or sponge in the cleaning concentrate and then soak the affected area by holding the sponge down on it for a few moments to help loosen and soften the poop.

"You’ll start to notice that the mess will soften and become easier to gently wipe away."
If there's still a slight mark on the window despite soaking the stain, then a squeegee or a plastic scraper may need to be used to remove the dirt.
Rub the area with a wet sponge first before using the tools to avoid scratching the glass.
Once the muck has been removed, use a second cloth or paper towels to dry the windows using a Z-shaped motion.
Adam added: "If your windows smear, it's a clear indicator that you’ve left some of the cleaning solution behind. Repeat the process until the window glass is left shiny and streak-free."
